wEet Addiction!

Some random post! I’m addicted to 宇多田ヒカル - Prisoner of Love. xD!

I wasn’t addicted to this song until I watched Last Friends. I actually watched the first ep of this drama like 2months ago, but didn’t quite like it + I was busy with exams. Now that I’m like really free at home, just thought of watching all the japanese dramas available on youtube.com or veoh.com. And 2nd impression I have on this drama, wow Brilliant! Mature story, and it definitely delivers some real life content there. And I absolutely adore the opening! Such stunning intro.. This is probably one of the first drama where I did not even bother skipping intros. Absolutely beautiful, u guys should check it out! ^^)v

Stepping into the ‘real world’

As most know, I’ve just finished my final year exams. Results were released last Friday, and I’m really happy with it. Was worried sick before that, coz I was getting news of other ppl’s results. And I thought I wouldn’t do as good as them seeing that I did not really study 24/7. I was half gaming, half studying during exam periods!! But thanx to Geoff, he actually barred me from playing games, was like 5-6hrs of studies, 2-3hrs of games, which was reasonably good.

Everyone was pretty happy with their results, LLJ even burst into tears, tears of happiness of course. We had a mini celebration on Friday, well actually, we’ve been celebrating since Wednesday, before the interview + release of results. We were just taking turns to cook for each other, and Friday was my day. Had everyone over my place, had some really nice dinner,  teriyaki chicken + sushi + onigiri + tamagoyaki.. And on Sunday, headed over to Geoff’s parents’ place for Sunday dinner, and got £20 + a very lovely card from Geoff’s parents ^^).

And that’s that for the celebration bit. As for now, I’m just in placement under Brewlab. Lots of works to do, everyone was like, ‘Wow, u’re gonna be a bz girl this summer’. Oh well, I don’t really mind tbh, rather than just staying at home, I rather spend some time w/ yeasts + learn some stuff off Keith. I’m in the progress of completing my CV as well.. I know.. I should have finished it like months ago, but I didn’t want to start it seeing that I didn’t have any proper results. Doubt any companies here would accept result which I obtained back in Malaysia. So what’s this placement about. It’s basically continuation from Marie’s project, the previous placement student. I’m pretty much enjoying it, altho it’s kinda quiet in the lab, w/o the bunch of pasar malam peeps =p.

After this placement, it’s real world time! Gotta step into the society n look for a new job! UH! Do i really want that? xD! Well  don’t think I have a choice eh, seeing that I wanna take my PhD.. so ye.. gotta work hard..

So that’s it really, nothing much happened lately, apart from academic point of view. I haven’t been anywhere YET, will prolly travel to Alton Towers some time next month. Mom is coming here on the 5th! Woohoo! and yup.. gtg now, work xD! toodles

Doraemon 「ドラえもん」

I got some time off from work and thought of watching something over Youtube and Doraemon came into mind!

One of my all-time favourite anime, apart from Shin Chan ;D.

There’s a step-by-step song to draw Doraemon「ドラえもん えかきうた」. I first learnt it from Kajiyama sensei ^^). Till now I can still remember how to draw Doraemon properly thx to the song ;D

おはようございます!

rainbow_boat.jpg
WooT! My first rainbow sighting in England \(*T▽T*)/

Good morning! A break for me at last, I have been working from 9am to 6pm from Monday - Friday lately, project, assessments bla bla. Anyway, despite that, I still have like two reports due next two weeks.. So gonna work on them now ;D toodles. Oh, by the way, Geoff bough GH3, with the guitaR! v(≧∇≦)v I was basically glued to it yesterday ^^)v. So much better playing this game with the guitar, back then I played GH1 & GH2 with controller =.-, u know la, hardly anyone buy original games in Malaysia =p

K, off I go to make myself some breakfast before working o(^o^o)o(^o^)o(o^o^)o

Kobe beef ( ̄¬ ̄)

I came across this article in BBC.co.uk

‘Most expensive sandwich’ on sale

The McDonald sandwich comes with a £85 price tag, filling mainly made up of Kobe beef.

£85! that’s like RM600! O_o.. I think the most expensive sandwich I’ve ever seen cost about RM20. But come to think of it, it’s Kobe beef, prolly worth it ;p. The last time I had Kobe beef was in Nihonkai<日本海>

oh my god!

The more I talk bout this, the more I feel like returning home >.<

I received another package from mom & sis this morning, my CNY gifts! T-shirts, I <3 T-shirts..

This 1 is a cutie =D

Valentine’s Day

Geoff treated me to V-day dinner at Rock.n’Amigos. Dinner was like usual, fantastic! おいしかったにゃー~(=^・・^)ノ>°)##)彡 We got there about 6.05pm, reservation was at 6.00pm, 5m late, eek. The restaurant was rather empty, I was surprised, in KL everywhere get filled up quickly. Geoff ordered the same stuff, steak fajitas, and I ordered Mexican Chicken, starter was nachos as usual.

Food was served rather quickly, probably because there weren’t many ppl yet.

nachos1.jpg nachos.jpg

Nachos topped with melted cheese, yum! Geoff always picked the nachos which were covered with cheese and left the un-cheesed nachos to me (●`ε´●) ぶー.

Steak fajitas *yum*

My meal (^^) Mexican Chicken - Chicken was cooked just right, juicy and sweet. One of my favourite in Rock.n’Amigos.

We usually stop ordering at this point, but since it’s Valentine’s Day, we had desserts as well. Geoff had Grandmom’s Apple Pie & I had Chocolate Brownie.

chocolate-brownie.jpg brownie_close.jpg

This was REALLY GOOD! Very chocolatish but not very sweet! I <3 it! ( ~ё ̄) -☆ However, I didn’t mange to finish it, u know brownies are filling. Felt a little sad that half of it went to waste “(ノ_・、)” at the same time I didn’t wanna force my stomach.

At the end of the meal, we were given 2 heart shaped chocolates ^^)v

receipt.jpg

Overall, food was good, even tho it wasn’t something new to me. That’s probably my 5th time or so dining in Rock.n’Amigos but who cares right, good food > new environment.

As for me, I got him a new car stereo for his V-day gift.

His current player is locked, after he replaced the old car battery with a new 1. Some code is needed to unlock the player, and since this car is a 2nd hand car, he doesn’t know the code and has no choice but to buy a new player. This stereo actually cost £99 but he had £50 vouchers from his ex-colleagues before he left the job, so I just paid £49 ^^) It’s a good bargain I’d say. We saw some other cool players by Pioneer, Sony, LG and stuff but they’re so expensive, I think more expensive that Malaysia. I don’t know where is the origin of Ripspeed, but it seems like a big company manufacturing lots of car accessories/parts.

お弁当

I made some onigiri and tamagoyaki for my obento^^). Tamagoyaki turnd out loose, so I didn’t take a pic of it ;p

onigirismall.jpg

Bought some cubed miso soup paste from tesco the other day, haven’t tried it yet, prolly will for dinner tomorrow.

It’s Valentine’s Day (*^・^)CHU~☆ Going to have Mexican food in Rock & Amigos tonight for dinner, rather simple Valentine’s Day for me, but it doesn’t bother me at all ^^), coz I <3 Mexican food! Fajitas, nachos (^¬^)うまそ~ As for this morning, I had sausage barm for breakfast, bought from the petrol station near my house. Cost about, £1.30 ( ̄~ ̄) モグモグ

Time to go now ;D HAPPY VALENTINE’s DAY!

Sunday Morning

Waking up at 10am to find that the dock was missing!  Holy molly! What thick fog¬

Cleaning/Stocking-up day

As usual, we spent Saturday to tidy up the mess, stocked up food supplies etc etc. Headed to Durham coz Geoff needed to grab his university files from his parents’ place, and we dropped by Brewers Fayre Restaurant in Broomside Park for dinner. Very poshie restaurant like Victoria Station in KL, prolly posher.

brewers-frayer.jpg

I had Haddock + new potatoes + salad, and Geoff had lamb + potatoes + nachos. My plate cost about £8, and his cost bout £12. Come to think of it, £8 = RM56, which is probably about RM20 more expensive than Manhattan’s Fish Market. Isn’t too bad, I’d say but orange juice was whoopie £2. Sorry no pictures of what we ordered ;p as you can see Geoff’s mobile wasn’t doing a good job in taking larger pictures and I left my mobile in the car.

After dinner, we went to Tesco, bought lots of stuff, 8xpork sirloin for £5, 4xchicken thighs & 4xchicken drumsticks for £3, 2pieces of salmon for £4, washing tablets, bleach, containers, milk, brie cheese, cookies, fish&chips+toad in the holex3+curry rice for £4 kitchen towels, aluminium foil, orange juice, apple juice, DVDs, cough syrup etc etc. I have fallen ill again, this is the 2nd time in like 3months! I couldn’t sleep all night, coughing was keeping me up.

cough-syrup.jpg

I hope with the power of this cough syrup, I’d get some deep sleep tonight.

messy.jpg

Back at home, see that pile of laundry, it’s gone now! We were out of washing tablets, so it was piled up in the living room waiting to be thrown into the washing machine.

board.jpg

Geoff’s to-do-list since last week.

jigsaw.jpg

1000x pieces of jigsaw puzzle, bought in Christmas season, took us 1month+ to finish it ;p

soup.jpg

Mom sent me packets of herbs last year. Took 2 1/2hrs to boil this soup, herbs+chicken. I had about 4bowls now. Hope my immune system would be strengthen-hate getting sick here, the air is too dry and it’s tickling my throat.

hoover.jpg

We bought a new bagless hoover from Currys, for £40. There are lots of fancy hoovers in the store costing up to £200! I needa bring my mom there when she comes, some hoovers look so futuristic, some sorta R2D2-ish design ;D

Happy Chinese New Year!

Wee, it’s the year of rat! Wishing u all a happy-ratty-year! I hope the Chung family will be visiting all of you¬ The family members will include …
Chung Ma Piew (strike Big Sweep)
Chung Tai Choy (strike big prosperity e.g. big business contract)
Chung Man Chee (strike 4D)

They will be wishing you Good Luck and Prosperity for the whole year.
Don’t worry, two of the family members will not be visiting.

Chung Sum Mann (being issued summons e.g. traffic summons) and
Chung Fan Shee (plant sweet potatoes meaning life expired)
since they will be out of town for the whole of 2008. (Credit to whoever wrote this)

CNY for me was ugh, I wish I was back home-playing mahjong/poker/blackjack with my family-relatives & friends. (T-T )( T-T) ウルウルI spent like 2hrs celebrating CNY in Stadium of Light. They had some performances-lion dance, wushu, and some other dances, and they were promoting Beijing Olympic 2008. Sounded like China were seizing this opportunity to grab more tourists to Beijing due to Olympic. IMO, it’s pretty silly to have such ‘advert’ during CNY dinner. All of us were basically there for the food, seeing that we paid £7 to enter, and the food was ugh and insufficient! We were only given a plate of meal =.-. Stingy ¬no CNY atmosphere! Most of us left right after we finished eating ;p

My hair was being messed up by Melissa =.-

My CNY dinner (T-T). Once again, thx to Sheryl LLJ for the pics!
