Happy new year - 2008 - The end of my WoW-ing days - The rebrth of my Jdrama days

Recently, time seems to be zooming ahead in like seconds < am I making sense here? =p. It didn’t feel the same when I was in high school/college. Time went by slowly back then, I was hoping today was tomorrow for like every single day. Right now, no way, I want today to be yesterday… We’re already into the 2nd day of 2008.. eek so fast o.o, My winter vacation is going to end on the 10th, 3weeks vacation seems too short for me =.- The worst part is that I have 4reports due in this month. Eek.. completed 1, 3more to go, yosh!

Another good news, I’ve decided to stop playing WoW. I actually wanted to get into Black Temple, but meh, gradually losing interest in this game, especially with dramas going around in my guild. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good guild, till leadership *ploorrp* went down. No appreciation to the raid leader, whines/complaints by ppl who get swapped out ie loot whores and they actually mentioned a couple of times ‘progression > loots’ *ya rite*. Just felt totally heartbreaking when I’ve poured in time and effort and even money into trying to bring a guild which were doin Karazhan into end-game raiding, and when they got there, and got enough raiders, they just entirely put u aside. Totally speechless, but that’s the bad thing bout game, conflicts and stuff. Prolly a good time for me to focus more on studies seeing that I have like 5months more till my finals. Promised to make my family proud, and I will try my best. So if anyone is interested in buying a WoW account with a 2100+healing priest/12k HP PvP & SSC/TK prot warrior/Full S2 PvP gears, let me know ;D

Recently been spending time playing Xbox 360 since I don’t have any other games to play. Hey, work and no play makes Jup a dull girl. 360 is rather cool, but I just hate using joystick to play FPS =.- Been playing all sorts of ol-sega/arcade-games ie metal slug ;D. Could be quite frustrating at times playing with Geoff -aka world-champion- He’s like perfectionist in games, where else me, play-relax-give up. I was bored just now, so I went to google his name. Boy he was indeed rather famous in the xbox-live-world. Ppl were actually missing him when he retired o.O Where did Urgamanix Go?

The first and most prominent ‘Gamerscore Champions’ were ST TheKing (aka Tom Shaw) and Urgamanix (aka Geoff Wade). The rivalry between these two players was watched closely by the community, earning them media playtime in the form of interviews and dicussions on many gaming forums.

Shortly after, a form of cheating called ‘gamesave downloading’ become more and more widespread around the community, a process in which a player downloads other player’s saves in order to instantly gain Gamerscore without playing the game. The most notorious cheater was RANCE6, who gained the highest Gamerscore after many of the top players quit, including Urgamanix and ST TheKing.

=D Wish I could be like him, play 24/7 + get good results in exams. I wanna get my hands on Wii, seems like a really cute console. But it’s been out of stock in UK for AGES! Yes I mean aGES!. WTH, I should prolly go back to Malaysia and grab some and sell it over here to earn extra £$. Ps3 on the other hand has been piling up waiting for business. What’s wrong o.o?I went over to Geoff’s friend’s place the other day - they owned every single console in the world *applaud*. Played a lil Ps3, seems more like a computer sorta stuff - web browser yadaa yadaa. Motion controller like Wii, not a bad console I’d say. I was hoping to get Guitar Hero III with the guitar, but whoopie £70, a-na, too expensive (/_\) I played GHI, GHII on Ps2, without the guitar, wasn’t as fun as having the guitar obviously. Prolly gonna pop by Dav’s place some time to play it, boy I wish I could stay over in his place for a week or so. Loaded w/ consoles-high end computer-stereo, weet weet.

Oh and, I’m back to Jdorama <3 fast connection. Proposal Daisakusen プロポーズ大作戦 and Kurosagi クロサギwere really good!<3 Yamapi 山下智久~

Can’t stop laughing when he does ‘Hallelujah Chance’ with a little twist in Proposal Daisakusen ;D ;D ;D. Kurosagi was pretty original. Every episode was mainly bout how he swindled for justice - could be boring for some ppl, but not for me, as long as Yamapi plays a part =P Can’t wait to watch the movie, apparently they’re shooting it atm. And of course not forgetting Kimura Takuya’s 木村拓哉 latest drama Karei Naru Ichizoku 華麗なる一族 *double thumbs up*. I took a day to finish all 10eps =p, it’s so intense that I was just basically glued to the screen.

opz 1am off to bed I go to play Miami Nights on my mobile. ^^)v Nitey-nite

I am a gamer coz’ I was brought up with games.

I was reading my bro’s blog minutes ago, a blog entry on how he got into games. Indeed, that’s pretty much how I got into games as well. My dad’s friend gave him a really old junkie desktop pc back then, *sorry I ain’t going to talk in IT language* u know those olden days computer which used big black floppy disk. There was a game installed in that computer, bout some cat trying to get into windows to steal fish, but sometimes it could be some sorta bigger cats/monsters behind those windows which needs to be avoided. Sounds boring? not for those days.

Then months later, bro saw sega genesis in pasar malam, I don’t remember how much it was, all I remember was my brother asking me to pay a bit for it so I could get like 0.01% of the share. When I was younger, my mom gave me like 50cents, or sometimes RM5 when she’s feeling generous =P, and since I wasn’t in school back then, I saved my money in Mr.Yippie Maybank coin box. U’ll be amazed, I was pretty rich back then, my Yippie coin box was always full, I had to apply for another coin box from Maybank to keep my coins piling up.  So from there I dug RM50 out to pay for the sega genesis without mom knowing. That’s when I got really addicted to games. I was practically playing the lion king everyday till my mom got so frustrated, she complained to my bro that he was the cause of me playing games all day. And I told my mom, that I paid RM50 for the console, so I have the right to play it, she exploded and blame my bro for ’stealing’ my money. I remembered her yelling at my bro, and my bro got so pissed at me for blurtting it out. We sorta made a pinky promise to not tell mom that I paid for it.. =X The next day he came to me and threw RM50 at me, and that’s when I lost my 0.01%share, =(. He even locked the console in his wardrobe, but I somehow managed to open the wardrobe and played lion king when my bro was at school. Who’s the winner huh?! =p Old wardrobe, just a couple of straigtened paper clips did the job ;)

We had some other consoles in between, like atari and stuff like that, I don’t quite remember, my bro had crazy lots of consoles back then. The one I liked most was.. game gear, I guess it is called. Then years later we got a better computer, with windows 95. That’s when I started my very first FPS, Quake! I have to say I was pretty good in it, I remembered slaughtering my sister’s friends in a multiplayer deathmatch game *rocket launcher spam ftw*. When PS1 came out, I switched to it right away, and was basically glued to FF8. I think I’ve played FF8 more than 6times. I can pretty much remember the whole thing if u asked me now. Another, rather silly reason which got me hooked to FF8 was because the guy that I admired in school back then, was a big fan of FF games. xD I stopped PS1 when I was done and satisfied with my FF8 game completion, and when I no longer admired that guy =p

I went on with Dreamcast, Shenmue was a cute and sweet game. I loved playing it, the story line + BGM attracted me a lot which made me played the whole game 3 times from start to end. I wanted to continue with Shenmue 2, but my brother sold his Dreamcast to Jarod coz he needed money urgently. =( That’s when I moved back to FPS, Counter Strike at that time. I played CS for a long time, I was pretty good in it, I remembered beating Tony when we were playing in a lan shop.  Then Jarod n sister introduced me to a Chinese MMORPG, ShenZhou. I didn’t have a single clue to what I was doing, all I remembered was kill black pig for black pig blood, kill black dog for black dog blood. I had to collect these materials like everyday to hand it in for quests or something like that. I got bored eventually, and moved to Thang Online and met KiKi who basically helped me thru to lvl 40. But I didn’t stay in TO for long, it was boring! I moved to  Guild Wars next when I met Geoff. He started GW very much earlier than me, and my brother actually bought GW at the same time as Geoff but he lost interest after an hour playing it. Geoff was crazy bout GW, he basically stayed up every night just to get his PvP rank up. I was newb and didn’t like PvP back then, so we didn’t play together much. And gaming world is small, I met KiKi in GW. We were both totally crazy bout lvling new chars, farming n stuff, we were like PvE masters. Till I got bored of PvE I went to PvP as a newb and met some really nice Singaporean & Israelis friends who taught me a lot of tricks n skills in PvP. I got my PvP rank up to R7 and gave up GW due to lag, and thats when my brother dragged me into World of Warcraft coz he needed a personal healer. I stareted off as a newb, having like 800+healing at lvl70 while others had like 1200+healing. My talent tree was awfully weird as well, I had all pts in holy and tiny bits in shadow. I’m still playing WoW till now, my brother however stopped playing, addiction is a killer. I’m not that much addicted to WoW as I was before, but I am reluctant to dump my priest aside without her entering Black Temple.

My new baby!

YeY for new camera!

I’ve laid off from photography for quite a while, coz I was lazy back in Malaysia. I think I’m becoming a tad more hardworking ^^, probably because mom isnt here + everything is so expensive. I definitely do not want to waste my dad’s money since he’s funding me atm.  I’ve been attending classes all the time and surprisingly I’m actually enjoying going to classes. Unlike back when I was in UCSI =P.

I’m starting on my project tomorrow. I think I’ve mentioned it here before, just growing and optimising yeast growth so that we could produce them in bulk which last for years if possible. I haven’t finished reading on the literature reviews which I’ve found, will do after dinner tonight. I’m starting to cope pretty well with Immunology after completing year 1 n 2’s lectures. So that’s that bout studies.

We went back to Geoff’s parents’ place on Monday coz it was his dad’s birthday. I think it was his 60th birthday.. well I didn’t ask him and it’s hopeless asking Geoff. We bought a bottle of Japanese malt whisky by Yamazaki for him. He seemed to like it a lot =). We spent like 1-2hrs over there, just chatting.. His parents were like usual, very warm towards me. They were treating me like their daughter =D. Geoff on the other hand was acting cool =p.

Hey, meet Mr. DooDaa my new key chain, 90p. Whoopdedoo. Picture taken with my new camera ;) doodaa.jpg

Our weekly routine to Tesco ended up not just getting weekly food supply, but we got Christmas decorations as well. Celebrating Christmas here is going to be fun I reckon ;). Geoff’s parents are getting X’mas tree + ironing board for us =D.

K, going off to play some WoW before reading up journals on yeast. toodles

Malaysian society gathering

The whole bunch of us including the odd Geoff attended a gathering organised by the Malaysian Society. It was just a rather simple dinner in Leisure Centre, pretty much like Chinese styled restaurant, few round tables-a stage.. Tbh, we were there for the food only. Well, we paid £4 for registration, we’re obviously not there for the performances, what else do u think we, poor students were there for =P. Both Sheryls, Sarav n I had our plates piled up =P.. The food was so so, obiviously not as good as back home, but still edible.. Performance was.. I don’t know lol.. the stage was kinda pathetic..  then they had some games, just like the usual gathering agenda. We left rather early.. like 10pm-ish.. Went to look for a pub to play pool. Jesus christ, pubs here r like Canteena =P Old-man pubs… we passed by The Point, we wanted to go out, but Geoff doesn’t like clubbing, so we ended up in Sunderland.. something.. Sunderland Bistro or something.. That pub *bleh* was pretty much like Coliseum back in KL. Too bad I didn’t manage to take any pictures, due to the fact that I do not have a camera =(

I’ve been scoping around for digital cameras lately. Check this out Fuji Finepix S5700, 10x optical zoom =O 7mp, for just RM700 + delivery! =P well slightly cheaper than Malaysia, I think this camera costs about RM1000. So certain things like mobile phones r cheap that’s if u sign contract which isn’t very beneficial to us 1-year student. Food, no way… shirt, winter wear yes.. strawberries? definitely. I bought 2 boxes of strawberries for £1 this morning ;)

I went to the Chinese shop again after class.. well it’s actually called Aroma.. something lol, we called it the Chinese shop. Bought chinese soy sauce, sweet n sour sauce + black thick sauce.. for £3. Gonna fry rice sometime soon. I’m definitely improving in cooking. These are what I’ve made for the past few days.

steak.jpg

2 sirloin steak for £5 in Tesco. Bought some seasoning to marinate the steak + potatoes. Walaa, a perfect meal.. ish.. Geoff said it was really good.. I like bloody medium rare steak, this was bloodless well-cooked steak =/

sushi.jpg

First attempt on making sushi. Turned out ugh, the rice was too soft again.. What is wrong w/ the rice cooker!! I guess this time, I’m just gonna put 1table spoon of water for 2cups of rice. HMFT! The egg however was good, =D I kinda like it, I’m gonna try to make more n put in the fridge for breakfast =>

Then yesterday, went over to Sheryls’ place to eat nasi lemak. That was how we celerated our Hari Raya. The rice turned out pretty ok, the curry was like Chinese styled watery curry ahaha, but nonetheless still a perfect meat. After that, Geoff n I went over to his parents’ place, coz his dad needed help to get his laptop connected to the router. So, it’s Mr.Wade’s birthday on the 22nd. =D Going out for dinner.. yey yey!!

Now I’m gonna prepare dinner, just boring hamburger + chips. Toodles

HorraY! TNT parcel from home

Boy I <3 Mom n Sis! *hugs* They sent a 20kg parcel to me last week consisting 2x packs of Milo, lots of Korean instant noodle, Panasonic rice cooker (the new technology 1), my lab coat, 2ring files, big bag of rice, and my Microbiology book. OMG OMG! I missed Milo so much! The moment I opened the parcel, I made myself a cup of Milo.. *slurp.  Everything was in pretty good shape except for the rice of bag, somehow the bag was tore and I had to scoop grains of rice from the carpeted floor.. tedious >.<;;

I wanted to make sushi for dinner yesterday, but there wasn’t salmon nor any sort of raw materials.. so I made roasted chicken + roasted potatoes + steamed carrot/brussels sprout. Hey, not bad for a beginner right.. maybe I’m starting to express my mom’s gene.. =P

dinnergeoff.jpg

Geoff’s dinner without roasted chicken sauce.

Mine with sauce+onions

ship.jpg

Some boring ship, yawn…

Everyday I’ve been waiting to see Queen Elizabeth 2 docking in front of my apartment but to no avail. I missed the chance to see her once when she docked here for a couple of minutes last week when I was in university =(.

Back from Sunday dinner

yum! I *heart* Sunday dinner at Geoff’s parents’ place. Beef-mashed potato-broccoli-carrot-beans-yorkshire pudding + gravy as main course, and dessert was profiteroles + milk + chocolate & trifle. *slurp*  I met Mark’s gf, she’s Irish, Kristy, she’s a lovely lady, was talking to me a lot and she loves Cantonese food =D. Dinner was as great as usual, Geoff’s mom was talking to me a lot as well, she was like “come over anytime u feel like to, and if u do need help don’t be shy to ask” ^^) Feels very warm, lots of hugging and kissing too, something which I’ve never done back in homecountry, Asians r shy I guess. As we were talking, his mom asked whether am I coping alright, then I went “yea very well, apart from when Geoff bullies me” Then she went, “ahh.. the Wades, slap him if he does that again” =D

Oh n Geoff’s parents are coming over to our place sometime soon, hm.. I need to learn to cook some Chinese food, coz she wanted to try them.. hm.. tuff task =X.. need help from mom XD.. Then there was a part where they were talking bout grandchildren, I was somehow lost. The conversation started when Geoff’s mom said she would like to have grandchildren soon.. then Geoff went, “What are you talking about, we’ve started trying already”. Geoff’s mom was like O.o… “u serious, u’re not kidding right?”. Then she looked at me, .. I was like blur.. I didn’t understand bit of it, and I went saying “maybe..”..  Then his mom’s eyes went even wider O.O… lol.. grandchildren… hm too soon =P …

Erm… we didn’t do much next.. We left the place kinda early, like right after dinner.. Coz Geoff had some work to do, and I needed to study.  Since I didn’t have Immunology back when I was in UCSI, I’m doing some self studying.. I couldn’t understand a thing Dr. Anne was teaching on Friday =( pretty frustrating to be honest. So I borrowed like 4books from the library, and hoping that I’d understand her lecture next week.

K time for bed now, have to go in early tomorrow, and electrician coming in the afternoon to fix non-working lights in house.

Sister’s Birthday Party & My Farewell Party

Yesterday was a blast! My house was totally packed w/bout 30+ ppl who were here for my sis’s birthday + my farewell party. Well, my sister’s birthday is on the 17th, but she decided to have an early party before I leave. Most of my relatives were here including my cousin brother, Chai Ween, who just came back from Ireland. My friends were just Kevin, Ming and Emily. Oh and not forgetting Kok Beng. A friend whom I’ve not seen for 12years. We used to play together a lot when he was 7, I was 9 at that time. It’s good to meet up with friends whom I’ve not seen in ages, but it’s kinda depressing  at the same time.. since I’m leaving, so there isn’t any chance for me to spend more time with them.. =( Leona was supposed to come, but she couldn’t seem to get a day off from her dad or something. I’m pretty much saddened by that =( Well, I’ve not seen that girl in ages, and she’s my close friend since high school. Kinda miss her to be honest and not forgetting Charissa =( sad that my close friends are not here to hang out with me before I leave.

Anyways, *wipes tears* The entire party was tiring, the food was fantastic. Barbaque was sucky, like usual. It was firstly just barbaque, but mom decided to cook so everyone ended up just eating mom’s food. Barbaque was left for the flies.. >.>

Farewell party

I didn’t get a chance to try every dish that my mom cooked, was pretty busy serving guests + entertaining my little nieces. The whole thing ended about 11-ish, did some cleanups, and played a bit of Xbox 360, took some pictures with Kev, Ming and Emily before heading out to eat Sai mai loh in SS2.

Farewell

=P yeye, I know I looked silly, was promoting my mom’s fried wanton. We took that pic in the kitchen, that’s actually a reflection on my mirrored refrigerator.

Farewell2

Another silly picture =P

farewellkitchen.jpg

I got home bout 3am after the yumcha session. Kev stayed over night in my place coz we had another gathering the day after with Billy and Yen Kheng. He’s pretty lucky, he got the largest space + largest TV in the house that night. Yep, u guessed it right, the living hall =P Hey, who wouldn’t want to have a free security guard, even if it’s just for 1 night. As for me, I went to bed like 3.30am-ish, and my baka woke me up at 4 something ish. I missed him a lot, wish he was here to celebrate with me, would make everything more meaningful. I talked to him for a couple of minutes and I fell asleep =X yeye, I’m a pig.. oink.

The next day, Billy woke me up and I was like, o crap I’m late. Rushed to get ready and stuff just to find Kev was still taking his shower.. It was 11.30 at that time, and we’re supposed to meet up at 11.00am >.>. Reached 1U, Yen Kheng & Billy were already waiting for us. Had lunch buffet in Shogun. Wow, there were so many various Japanese dishes, for just $55, it’s so worth it IMO. If only Geoffy was there, he would have just kept eating cucumber sushi rolls for the entire holy 3hrs =P. We spent like 2hrs chatting, and getting updates on everyone. Apparently lots of us are going to England. => After lunch, we just walked around the place. I bought some skin/facial care stuff to bring over to England. Well, cold weather, I bet my skin would go really dry. We left the mall at bout 5pm-ish, and Yen Kheng came over to my place for a couple of minutes, to look see/see look my new house. That’s how my Sunday went by. Pretty enjoyable, but tiring as well.

I’m gonna start packing my luggage tomorrow.. I guess…

Goodbye dear uncle

I heard from mom that Uncle Chin passed away 2days ago. Mom said he was feeling ill but didn’t wanna consult a doctor. In the afternoon of  the 4th, he vomitted blood in bed and was pronounced dead shortly after. What causes it? I have no clue, mom didn’t ask much but I suspect it’s lung cancer, seeing that he was a heavy smoker. He will be remembered in this mortal world and I hope he finds peace in the afterworld m(_ _)m
